RUNNING CHARACTERS
BOWIE TURNER (24) – A rookie Border Patrol Agent from Indiana, Bowie just started his first night on the job. He’s a handsome, technically oriented, intelligent individual who is out of familiar territory for the first time. He trained on sophisticated equipment at the Acadamy, but when he arrives in El Centro he is frustrated to discover they're fifteen years behind the times. Despite this unexpected surprise, he's still determined to make an impression.
ALEJANDRO "ALEX" VELASQUEZ (35) – An eleven year veteran, Alex is an imposing figure. He is a well muscled hispanic man with arms covered in Aztec tattoos. At first glance he gives the impression of a thug, but a closer inspection reveals a sharp intelligence. A strong, silent type, he's more at ease in a dusty library than a battlefield, but he is equally adept at both the phyiscal and mental arts. He is Bowie’s training officer.
PIPER JOHANSEN (28) – A six year veteran, Piper is a petite redhead with a Steve McQueen cool, but she's also legendary for her foul mouth and quick temper. She can hold her own with any of the guys and is fiercely independent. She goes mostly by the book... but she has been known to periodically rewrite it whenever it suits her needs. Her father was a member of Delta Alpha who disapeared on the job when she was a child. She has never given up searching for him.
TIM MOONEY (61) – Mooney wound up as a station commander simply because he's an old-school hard ass that gets the job done. As the head of Delta Alpha Nine, his word is law. His brash tone saw him busted down from a posh position at Area 51, and even though he respects his Agents, he doesn't like his current assignment. He passes the time indulging his two hobbies: working on motorcycles and collecting Elvis Presley memorabilia.
ANGELA DENSMORE (27) – Angela is very flirtatious and posseses an offbeat sense of humor. She is head of the Communications Room, the team that monitors all the other agents while they are out in the field and also keeps tabs on activities along the Border. She is an NTE, a slang term for "Non Terrestrial Entity", which is what the Delta Alpha members call anyone from the other side of the Border. She has the ability to shapeshift and mimic other people with perfect precision.
WADE BARKER (62) – Wade and Mooney are best friends, having served together in the Vietnam War. A grizzled cowboy at heart, he recently retired from Delta Alpha and runs a pawn shop called The Trading Post on the outskirts of town. But it's not just random outdated junk that he collects... he also hunts down NTE artifacts from all over the world. He has secrets that not even Mooney suspects.
ORLANDO ORTIZ (29) – A good hearted but extremely unlucky repeat offender who is constantly caught trying various ways to cross the border into the United States. Orlando has seen many strange things in his trips through the desert and an unusual bloodline has turned him into a hunted man. His father has groomed him since childhood to eventually face the dark forces on the other side of the Border.
VICTORIA WAINWRIGHT (35) – A Special Agent assigned to Delta Alpha Nine, Victoria’s youthful appearance belies her true age of nearly three hundred years. She is secretly an NTE of enormous power who has taken the form of a beautiful woman. She hides her true identity from the Delta Alpha team and seeks to control the Border itself.
THE DELTA-ALPHA PROJECT
On June 30, 1908, Russian settlers in the Tunguskan hills northwest of Siberia observed a column of bluish light, nearly as bright as the sun, moving across the sky. About ten minutes later, there was a flash and a sound similar to artillery fire. The sounds were accompanied by a shock wave that knocked people off their feet and broke windows hundreds of miles away. The explosion registered on seismic stations across Eurasia and would have been equivalent to an earthquake of 8.0 on the modern Richter scale. It also produced fluctuations in atmospheric pressure strong enough to be detected in Great Britain. Over the next few days, night skies in Asia and Europe were aglow such that citizens of London could read a newspaper in their light.
The explosion became known as the “Tunguska Event.” Some claim it was a meteor or comet that exploded in the Earth’s atmosphere, others claim it was the crash site of an alien spacecraft of unknown origin. These latter claims led the government of the United States to create the Disturbance Area Project – known amongst the military as the Delta Alpha Project – to investigate potentially supernatural or otherworldly events. Over the years since the Tunguska site became Delta Alpha One, many other Disturbance Areas have been revealed, from Delta Alpha Twelve in Roswell, New Mexico, to Delta Alpha Thirty-Four in Scotland’s Loch Ness, all the way to the most famous site in the Nevada Desert: Delta Alpha Fifty-One, also known as Area 51.
The events of The Border take place at Disturbance Area Nine located in El Centro, California. The agents of Delta Alpha Nine monitor unexplained occurrences emanating from a nearby ghost town known to the locals as Death’s Head, which has been abandoned by any living human presence for almost one hundred years. Over the course of the series, we will follow the agents as they come face to face with the dark forces on the other side of the Border.

STORY CONSULTANT
In an effort to make certain that their representation of the men and women who patrol our nation's borders was as accurate as possible, the writers met with a member of the United States Border Patrol. The Agent served as a story consultant and provided such technical information as Border Patrol procedures, safety measures, and jargon. The only thing he wouldn’t comment on is whether or not there really is a clandestine organization like Delta Alpha Nine that monitors supernatural activity in the southern California desert...
FINAL PITCH
It is our firm belief that The Border will appeal to almost anyone. Young men and teens will enjoy the sci-fi and horror twists to the stories told every week. The older male and female audience that enjoys police procedurals will also have a reason to tune in. The show has two very strong central female characters that will appeal to women of all ages, one a Border Patrol agent, the other a supernatural villain who serves as the main antagonist in the series. Lastly, the characters vary in age from their 20’s to their 60’s, so viewers in nearly all the main demographics will have someone they can relate to.
